“Your vision will become clear
Only when you look into your heart.
Who looks outside, dreams.
Who looks inside, awakens.”

ITM’s goal is to promote traditional medical systems through the development and implementation of comprehensive educational and training programs facilitated by leaders in the fields of traditional and contemporary medicine. The institute offers a unique forum where traditional healers, physicians, scientists, medical anthropologists, and spiritual scholars can share knowledge and experiences that can assist them in integrating mainstream healthcare with traditional systems of healing. By considering the study of TM at ITM, students are choosing to join a growing number of practitioners who understand that health is rooted in a balance of mind, body and spirit.
Graduates of ITM play crucial roles in the formation and implementation of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in North America. Students are expected to utilize these systems of medicine to benefit their communities, and to be advocates for the understanding and integration of traditional medicine in the West. We endeavour to prepare and guide students along their journey toward achieving their goals and dreams, as they become caring, ethical, and highly effective practitioners in the field of traditional medicine. Students of ITM act as resources for clients, governments and medical organizations requiring support and guidance in relation to the integration of the various forms of healthcare and medicine practiced in Canada and world.
ITM is dedicated to expanding the horizons of medical science.
Our mission is to provide the most advanced theoretical and practical training in traditional medicine available in North America. ITM offers Diploma Programs in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, along with opportunities to learn and experience a number of traditional medical systems of healing such as Ayurveda, Tibetan and Aboriginal Medicine. We provide our students with a place of learning based on the guiding principles of these ancient traditions, where students may explore their own spiritual growth as an integral part of learning the healing arts. Students are encouraged to incorporate these ancient teachings of living in harmony and balance into their own lives and to be a living example of the healing arts.
At ITM, we aim to promote the wisdom of traditional medical systems in a way that benefits all people of our world. Our students play instrumental roles, through internship exchanges and building awareness, in supporting indigenous communities to preserve their traditional medical systems of healing around the world.
Together, we will build the future of Traditional Medicine in North America.
We invite you to begin your journey into the world of traditional healing arts with us.
