“It is a tragedy that, for most of us, school is not a place for deepening our sense of who we are and what we are committed to. If it were, think of the lasting changes it would have made.”

Academic Policies
At ITM we understand that the quality of education we provide is vital for our students’ ability to practice Traditional Medicine in the future. Our objective is to offer the highest level of excellence in all our programs. Students of ITM are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment and dedication to their personal journey of learning and development, and a sincere respect of and cooperation toward the path their fellow students are leading. Our curriculum, teaching strategies and standard of education enable all graduates to succeed as primary health care providers using the principles of traditional medicine, and to become an integral part of the modern health care system.
Each student’s ‘learning style’ is evaluated and incorporated into our faculty’s teaching methods, and our system of evaluation considers every student’s individual abilities and skills. The complete participation of each student in all areas of learning is of outmost importance. Attendance, participation, professionalism, clinical performance, respect, sincerity and moral conduct are pertinent factors considered in evaluating the student’s progress.
Tuition & Scholarships
At ITM, we do our best to make the study of Traditional Medicine available and accessible to as many people as possible. For this reason we have created flexible payment plans, scholarships and affordable tuition fees suitable for students who are not eligible for funding, or have other financial obligations.
All OM Diploma Programs: Fulltime: $125 per credit ($250 per Clinic Credit) plus applicable taxes
Part Time Studies: $180 per credit ($360 per Clinic Credit) plus applicable taxes
Scholarships
ITM is committed to supporting individuals who have proven their dedication to being of service to others, particularly in the healing arts, but for financial reasons have difficulty in pursuing this path. For these reasons ITM offers full and/or partial scholarships to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to preserving these traditional medical systems in order to assist others on the path toward healing. Scholarship applications can be received from the registrar. All scholarships and their particulars are granted, rescinded or subject to change at the discretion of the Directors of the Institute.
Dalia Mascarin Scholarship
Dalia Mascarin, in a very short time, brought intense joy, love, hope and healing for the many that were blessed with knowing her. In honour of her life, and the happiness and healing that she brought to this world, ITM is offering a scholarship, each year, to an individual who has demonstrated a personal dedication to preserving the wisdom and practice of traditional medicine, and to bringing healing to this world.
First Peoples Scholarship
In honour of the First Peoples of Canada, and their commitment to sharing and protecting their land and the medicine, ITM will offer, each year, a scholarship to an individual who is of Canadian Aboriginal Descent, and who has demonstrated a personal dedication to preserving their traditional medicinal practices.
Faculty & Advisors
ITM has the support and guidance of a number of distinguished and highly experienced experts within the field of traditional medicine. Each faculty member has been carefully chosen for their specific expertise within Traditional Medicine; for their pioneering leadership in the advancement of Traditional Medicine world wide; and for their commitment, ability and dedication to educating and promoting the ethical and professional training and practice of TM in North America. All faculty and staff fully uphold and support ITM’s mission in regards to preserving the world’s traditional medicines in ethical, moral, professional and compassionate ways.
Members of the faculty, who are trained in a variety of modalities within the fields of science, art and spirituality, including allopathic medicine, benefit our students and program by bridging the gap between the Western and Eastern, and ancient and modern, perspectives and modalities of healing and medicine. They are dedicated to providing our students with the highest level and most comprehensive educational training and guidance possible in Traditional Medicine.
Our Advisors come from a number of walks of life including Politics, Counselling and Psychotherapy, Traditional and Allopathic Medicine, Nutrition, International Affairs, Education, Business Development, Palliative Care and Spiritual Direction, and offer a variety of skills and experience to further develop our community at ITM.
For a complete list of current Faculty and Advisors, please refer to the Faculty and Advisors of ITM brochure.

All applications are considered on an individual basis irrespective of nationality, race, religion, sex and age. Applicants of minority populations are encouraged to apply.
Together, we can build a community of learning, growing and compassion.
